About Me: I create a very individualized massage session that will leave you deeply relaxed, yet energized, more aware of your body, more at peace with your world, and feeling considerably less pain, very possibly none, if pain was an issue. You will also probably later notice more ease in handling stress, improved sleep, and lessening of many chronic conditions.
I draw from many years of trainings, workshops, and experiences in different massage modalities and various healing arts. First, the program at the Baltimore School of Massage (graduated 1992), included extensive study and training in working with muscle and connective tissue at all levels, from basic Swedish massage to deep tissue work and myofascial release. After that I studied Paul St. John's Neuromuscular Therapy, Fritz Smith's Zero Balancing™,Craniosacral work--both with Upledger teachers and Hugh Milne, and Shiatsu with Barbara Esher. Other energy-based healing approaches include chakra balancing, Energy Kinesiology, and, most extensively over the years, Jin Shin Jyutsu®. I love introducing clients to Jin Shin Jyutsu--with their permission. My hands become like "jumper cables" to energize your body's run-down "battery." This sequential touch, which can be fairly strong or incredibly light, helps restore emotional equilibrium, relieve pain, and release the causes of acute and chronic conditions. It is a beautiful healing art that is very much a "physio-philosophy"--embracing a beautiful theoretical framework that includes relationships with color, sound, numbers, astrology and energetic-pulse listening. It shares much of the same theoretical framework of Five-Element acupuncture. And yet, the simplicity of its daily self-application is profound.
