The Next Step - Developing Local Network Chapters!

Well Kneaded Massage has had many therapists inquiring about setting up local chapter networks within their service areas. This request is the natural next step for Well Kneaded Massage in providing opportunities for therapists to learn from one another and work together to make their private practices, our network and our industry stronger.

In a survey sent to therapists nationally, we had over 2500 responses! This survey covered very broad topics ranging from determining fair market value for an hour Swedish massage to how massage franchises are affecting our industry and independent practices. This survey asked many of the top questions our office receives from massage therapists.

Our intent was to gather information and address the most pressed topics by therapists nationally. As we address these issues, we will ask therapists to submit their questions about a particular topic and allow therapists to participate in sharing their knowledge regarding each topic.

To accomplish this, Well Kneaded Massage will be putting together a list of local chapter leaders. These will be therapists who volunteer a minimal amount of time each month in leading our chapter meetings. We have had an amazing response from therapists looking to lead and participate in these meetings. We hope you are all as excited as we are with seeing the potential in these meetings!

We will be putting together a calendar of topics that will be addressed each month at chapter meetings. Though meeting topics are subject to changes and to include additions, they are currently scheduled to include the following.

1 - Prior Topic Summary. The chapter leader will begin the meeting with a summary of all the information gathered by therapists and other industry professionals feedback regarding the topic that was discussed in the previous meeting. This summary will include answers to questions gathered in the previous meeting. It may also include further plans if any action is required by any individual(s) of our network. Prior Topic Summaries will also be included in therapist newsletters.

2 - Topic Discussion. This topic will be predetermined by our office and chapter leaders according to survey feedback. At this time therapist questions will be gathered from chapter leaders to be submitted to our office. Our office will then send out these questions in our monthly newsletter. We will ask all therapists to participate by sharing their knowledge as well as asking other industry professionals to contribute to these topics.

3 - Marketing Assignment Summary. Each month, local chapters will discuss each therapists contributions to the previous months marketing assignment.

4 - Marketing Assignment. Our network is here to assist in improving every therapists independent practice. In doing so, we are also strengthening our network. This relationship is absolutely dependant on the concept of "one hand washes the other". For us all to benefit, it is imperative we work together in developing & maintaining marketing strategies that we can execute together in a proficient, consistent and cost effective manner. Therefore, each month all network members will be given a marketing assignment to help get their personal name and the name of our network into the community.

5 - Open Discussion. This will allow therapists to ask & discuss any topic amongst themselves. It is encouraged that each group discuss issues regarding their local market. After all, you will know it best!

Well Kneaded Massage feels that by developing a stronger network that works together, we will have the ability to address topics that truly concern us all. We are not limited to only including therapists that belong to a particular insurance association or a group of therapists that simply share a specific institution of training. Any & all therapists who choose to participate will be united in the belief that we can make a difference for our clients, our businesses and our industry!
