We do not limit our therapists to providing a small menu of services, but rather we allow our therapists to provide any professional massage service they are trained and skilled in. Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is primarily used to relax the body & mind with slow, light to medium pressured strokes over the body. It is also used to shorten recovery time after exercise by removing metabolic wastes out of the muscles. The strokes and manipulations of this massage are designed with therapeutic benefit in mind. This massage helps to improve blood return from extremities and does not increase heart load. This massage also stretches ligaments and tendons and relaxes the nerves while stimulating the skin. Swedish massage is a regular component in stress management programs.

Deep Tissue Massage

As the name suggests, this therapy is used to release chronic muscle tension by slower, deeper, and more direct touch. Deep tissue massage locates ingrained areas of discomfort and slowly opens them.

Sports Massage is designed for the serious athlete. Sports massage focuses on the muscles used most extensively by the individual athlete and includes pre-event, post-event, and maintenance techniques. This massage helps reduce recovery time and risk of injury.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage is designed to assist in treating injuries, illnesses, and aid in physical rehabilitation. It is also often used for pre and post surgery patients. This massage is prescribed by a doctor and gives the massage therapist instructions for the course of treatment. Medical massage helps to treat spinal deformities, tendonitis, bursitis, and TMJ.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are tender areas found in tight muscles, often referred to as "knots". These points can cause chronic or acute pain. This therapy is designed to help release the contracted area in the muscle. The therapist will apply sufficient pressure for 10 - 30 seconds to the trigger points to help release the contraction and follow this with stretching the area in efforts to prevent a recurrence. Trigger Point therapy helps to relieve back pain, whiplash, and fibrositis amongst other conditions.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release uses the approach of releasing tension in the soft connective tissues by using slow, sustained pressure and strokes. These connective tissues often become constricted due to mental, emotional and physical illnesses. This results in bones being pulled out of place, causing lack of mobility, discomfort and pain. Oils and Lotions are not used for this therapy. This technique is great for conditions such as scoliosis and stress related disorders.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is a combination of both Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release techniques. Its purpose is to balance the nervous system with the musculoskeletal system in efforts to relieve nerve pain caused by pressure from soft tissues including muscles, fascia, and tendons. This technique has shown to help with conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, back pain, neck pain, scoliosis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and migraines.

Rolfing

Rolfing is designed to restore flexibility and mobility by releasing tension in both the muscular system and connective tissues that intertwine and form a web throughout the body. Rolfers will use their hands, forearms and elbows to stretch the connective tissues with deep pressure. Oil is not used during this therapy, in order to achieve the full benefits of friction. Rolfing achieves great results for those who experience chronic pain. This massage is done is a series of 10 sessions over the period of 10 - 20 weeks. Your therapist will best assess whether you would be best served with 60 or 90-minute appointments.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic Massage is used to boost the circulation of the lymphatic system. The therapist uses light, slow repetitive strokes and gentle rocking of the body to assist lymphatic movement through the lymphatic vessels. This massage helps to remove excess water, wastes, toxins and foreign substances from the body in efforts to destroy disease-producing organisms.

Lypossage

Lypossage is used to cleanse the body of stagnant, stalled lymphatic fluid that can create the lumps and bulges we know as figure distortion. The therapist uses lymphatic drainage & deep tissue techniques to break up adhesions under the skin that can contribute to the dimpled, uneven appearance of cellulite. Lypossage is done in a series of 15 - 20 treatments. Your therapist will best assess how many treatments will best suit your needs.

CranioSacral

CranioSacral Therapy is used to balance the craniosacral system by releasing points that restrict the flow of fluid surrounding the brain and spinal column. The therapist first locates the areas of restriction by palpating the craniosacral rhythm. A very light, gentle pressure is then applied to areas of maximum flow to facilitate release. This technique is used to treat migraine headaches, TMJ syndrome, Bell's palsy and insomnia. It is also used with among children to treat learning disabilities, dyslexia and the hyperactive.

Acupressure

Acupressure uses the Chinese system of meridians and energy flow. Acupressure points are identical to acupuncture points but are stimulated by pressing with the hands and fingers instead of by inserting needles.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is the Japanese method of restoring energy balance to the body, mind and spirit by applying finger point pressure to specific points in the body. These points align the energy channels for smooth, continuous flow. Strokes will also be used to encourage build up of energy in depleted areas or to encourage the spread of excess energy. Stretches are also used to help the circulation of energy. This therapy is typically performed with the recipient clothed and on a floor mat.

Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the theory of reflex points in the hands and feet, which are a feature of Oriental medicine. In Oriental theory bodily energy flows through invisible routes called channels or meridians. These channels end at the feet and hands. They are also represented on the ears. Specific points and areas are directly related to bodily organs, functions and systems. Pressing these points as in acupressure and manipulating these areas results in a treatment effect similar to acupressure.

Lomi Lomi

Lomi Lomi Massage is a Hawaiian form of massage that uses the power of prayer, energy healing, breathing techniques and long rhythmic, hypnotic & soothing strokes with the forearms to heal mentally, emotionally, physically & spiritually. The goal with this technique is not to "fix" a problem, but to facilitate it's healing through nurture.

Reiki

Reiki Therapy is used to balance and amplify energy for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being of the recipient. The Reiki therapist is used as a channel to draw energy from the universe, through the palms of his/her hands, to the recipients' chakras, glands and major organs. The therapist may also use verbally guided visualization to techniques to relax, reduce stress and see his/her own well-being.

Esalen

Pregnancy, Labor & Post Partum Massage

Pregnancy Massage is designed to relieve muscular tension and structural discomforts, enhances body awareness and offers emotional support to reduce anxiety & stress. The therapist will use comfortable positioning with pillows for the expectant mother along with a variety of massage techniques to nurture and sooth her. This massage is helpful in relieving discomfort due to weight gain and swelling in the body.

Labor Massage is designed to provide emotional support, relieve birthing anxiety and manage birthing pain to create a more relaxed and assuring labor process.

Postpartum Massage is designed to help the mother's body return to pre-pregnancy functioning by addressing structural imbalances, rehabilitating skin, muscles, and organs, and by reducing pain. It can alleviate the strain of carrying and caring for a newborn child and provide nurturing emotional care for the mother through the postpartum stages.

Infant Massage

Infant Massage is most often taught to new mothers to help them bond with their babies. It combines touch, massage and reflexology as a fun interaction. Recent studies have shown that massage has great benefits for small children. Massage helps them develop their nervous and muscular systems.

Hot Stone Massage

Stone Massage is designed to create a greater intensity of relaxation of the muscles by first applying water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body. This allows manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage and a sensation of comfort and warmth.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy utilizes pure essential oil, which consist of the distillation of highly concentrated, aromatic essences of various flowers and plants. Essential oils have healing properties and are used for relaxation, distressing, relieving muscle soreness and even treating cellulite & blue veins. This service is supplied as an add on to other services.

Ear Candling

Ear Candling/Coning is used to remove wax buildup and bacteria from the ear. A hollow candle is placed in the ear and lit. This creates a vacuum which pulls the wax, fungus, Candida, yeast and other debris out of the ear and up into the bottom of the candle. As this happens, it is normal for the airflow to become obstructed with debris. The therapist will then clear the opening and continue the treatment. This treatment is a great alternative to more abrasive methods of flushing the ear canal with forced water.

Gratuity
Gratuity is optional, however encouraged. This allows your therapist to know their service was appreciated. What is an average tip? 15-20% of your bill is an average tip for service you feel was well performed.
Travel Fees
Travel Fees may apply to calls in which a therapist must travel over 20 minutes from their starting point. Travel fees will be determined by travel time and miles traveled. On average, travel fees are $1.00 per mile.
Parking fees may also be included in areas of which paid or metered parking is the only option for therapists.
Schlepping Fees
Schlepping Fees may apply to areas of which public transportation is a normal avenue of transportation. This fee will include the cost of the therapist's transportation fees.
